The final game of the North- ern Premier Football League season has ended well for champions Bay Olympic and one of its players. The New Lynn-based club thrashed demoted club For- rest Hill-Milford 6-1 at Becroft Park. Colin Gardyne was the star for Bay Olympic, scoring four goals in the match. Byron Paulus and Chad Coombes tallied the other goals for Bay Olympic while Forrest Hill's Ryan Baldac- chino also scored. The win means Bay Olym- pic finishes on 45 points -- seven points clear of second- placed Three Kings United. Fellow rivals Waitakere City finished in seventh place in the 10-team competition on 24 points. The Whenuapai-based club wrapped up its season last week with a 3-1 win over For- rest Hill. In the Northern first div- ision, Lynn Avon is currently placed in the relegation zone. They will need other results to go in their favour if they are to stay in the first division for 2012.
