All proceeds go to Canterbury cricket in the wake of the earthquake. A battle of declarations has seen success for Waitakere City in their two-day minor championship match. Waitakere picked up all the points as some confident batting led them to a five- wicket outright victory over Grafton United. The Te Atatu based club secured first innings points scoring 176-5 in response to Grafton's 173-9. After Grafton declared at 150-3 in the second innings it was Waitakere's Aaron Jeavons who led his side to a five-wicket win with an unbeaten 73. This moved Waitakere City up to fourth spot on the ladder.
