Premier cricket club Sub- urbs New Lynn tied with Cornwall for first innings points in their two-day major championship game after Suburbs scored 266 and Cornwall responded with 210/7. Waitakere Typhoon proved too good in their American Football Auckland play-off match against Manurewa Spartans winning 16-0 at Jack Colvin Park in Te Atatu. And football powerhouses Waitakere United dominated the national Premiership with the Whenuapai-based club crushing Manawatu 6-1. Dakota Lucas and Allan Pearce bagged doubles for Waitakere as the club closes in on the minor premiership.
