All members and non-members of any age and standard are welcome to go along to have a game on the club tennis courts and enjoy the facilities. Clubs will offer a range of fun tennis activities on the Open Day and organ- isers will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding the sport. Whether you are five, 55 or 85, ten- nis could be the sport for you. There is simply no right or wrong time to start playing the game which only emphasises the fact that tennis is a sport for a lifetime. Tennis is a safe non-contact sport that does not require expensive equip- ment. If you like individual sports -- tennis has it. If you prefer team sports -- it offers that too! Unlike many other sports, tennis is gender neutral and provides equal opportunities for male and female to participate, enjoy and achieve! Whatever your age, gender or physi- cal ability tennis just may be the ideal sport for you! Tennis is one of the most widely played sports in the world. We have all seen players from around the globe playing incredible matches recently at the Australian Open on television. Here is your chance to see what you can do on the tennis court or to find out if your chil- dren are able to hit the ball at an early age. Visit one of the 27 participating Auckland Tennis Clubs to see if it is right for you and your family! For a full list of participating clubs visit www.tennisauckland.co.nz See you there! South Island leads 'must-do' top 10 Penguin appeal: Kelly Tarlton's makes the top 20. Kiwis are rating their favourite must-do s on AA Tourism s 101 Must- Do s for Kiwis website, and from the 65,000 responses received so far, the South Island is coming out trumps. Voting so far has the top three Must-Do s for Kiwis all located in the South Island: the Abel Tasman National Park, Hanmer Springs Ther- mal Pools and Spa, and the Abel Tasman Coast Track. Only three of the cur- rent top ten Must-Do s are located in the North Island: the Bay of Islands, the Polynesian Spa in Rotorua, and Cathedral Cove in the Coromandel. AA Tourism General manager of marketing Rebecca Cherry says AA Tourism relaunched the domestic tourism cam- paign last month to coincide with summer holidays, and to refresh the 101 Must-Do s list to ensure it was up-to-date. The Abel Tasman National Park is a stun- ning part of our country and I m not surprised to see the park and coast track getting so many votes. With so much to see and do in New Zealand we want Kiwis to rate their favourite places and experiences, so that others are encouraged to give something new a go. Nelson Tasman Tour- ism CEO Lynda Keene is excited about people from all over New Zea- land voting for Abel Tas- man National Park. She hopes topping the 101 Must-Do s list will inspire more people to experience the beauty of the region first-hand. We encourage anyone to come and visit us any time of the year to soak up some of our sunshine and vibe. Obviously the high calibre of our tour- ism operators means that visitors to our region have always had nothing but nice things to say, Lynda says. Rebecca Cherry adds, With votes being received every day and the campaign being ongoing, the website s 101 Must-Do s for Kiwis will be an ever-changing, invaluable list of the top activities and experi- ences in New Zealand. Visitors to the 101 Must-Do s for Kiwis website can search by region, category, or type of activity, making it easy to find inspiration for a day around town or a weekend getaway. In addition to voting and ranking favourite things to do, there are prizes to be won, includ- ing monthly draws for a $2000 Ultimate Kiwi Holiday, passes to the Waitomo Glowworm Caves and Ruakuri Cave Combo, Maui camper- vans vouchers and more. 101 Must-Do s for Kiwis is supported by the fol- lowing corporate part- ners: New World, Dis- cover Waitomo, Maui, Britz, Backpacker, Budget, Venture South- land, Kelly Tarlton s, Venture Hawke s Bay, Central Otago and Tour- ism Bay of Plenty.
