As a mature person working 15 hours per week, Chris Bryant was looking for options that would allow him to study around his work hours. This is his story. I was researching dis- tance learning on the internet, and Learning Post was one of the institutions offering this option. On visiting their website I saw they offered computer programmes part-time or full-time from Level 3 to Diploma Level. The area of study I decided upon was the Certificate in Web Authoring and Database Design. During the enrolment process I was supported with completing of the application forms. The next step was to have a phone interview -- this was to confirm my ability to successfully complete the course and to ident- ify any other issues that may impact on my ability to complete the programme. A week before the course commenced my first pack of study material arrived. I found the study material to be of high quality and encountered no difficult- ies in using it. As each module neared completion the next pack of study material arrived. A post- age paid addressed envelope was provided with each pack to return work for marking. The marking of assessments had a quick turn around which allowed for a smooth workflow. Throughout this whole process I was con- tacted regularly by my tutor to discuss how I was doing. Overall the course flowed along fairly smoothly. Any problems I had my tutors were just an email or phone call away, and promptly dealt with. Being able to study at any time is a bonus of distance learning, as long as you have good time management. I would recommend Learning Post to any person who is wanting to upskill or generally gain a qualification that would enhance their employment opportunities.''
