NOTE: Mozaik 61 Constel- lation Drive is exclusively open on New Year s Day, January 1 for a superb laid-back New Year s experience! Next, Mozaik Cafe Parnell introduced affordable fine dining and a great cafe atmosphere to Parnell Rd. Now Mozaik Takapuna has revolutionised shopping mall dining with the first fully licensed/ table service cafe in Westfield Shore City. People rave about the service at the Mozaik Cafes and with good reason -- it manages to be entirely professional, warm and friendly at the same time. As for the food, they ve reinven- ted breakfast cuisine with all-day dishes like Amy s Breakfast, Corn Eggs Benedict, and Home-made Hashbrowns, while their a la carte lunch menu and fresh cabi- net food is simply superb. The cafe is fully licensed and offers a unique selection of wine including Mozaik own-label fine varietals. Communications min- ister Steven Joyce an- nounced the terms of the review this month after disruptions to the 111 service earlier this year. The review will also include an investigation governance require- ments, timing and con- sultation. Mr Joyce says the review will help estab- lish a network which will accommodate changing technologies and net- work structures. It will clarify who will have operational ac- countability for the deliv- ery of the 111 calling ser- vice in each of the component parts, Mr Joyce said. A draft discussion document will be ready for public consultation by the June quarter. The wonderful wild west Great walk: Piha Beach is a great place for a family stroll. With the Waitakere Ranges right in our backyard west Aucklanders are spoilt for choice when it comes to places to walk. Whether you re fit or looking for a easy walk for all the family the Western Leader has compiled a list of top walks for every ability. Beach Walks Anawhata Beach Fit If you don t mind a 20-minute uphill walk and navigating 11km of gravel roading, check out one of Auckland s most remote beaches. With only a few signs of civilis- ation visible from the beach, Anawhata represents the untouched rugged beauty of the west coast. The current at this beach is extremely strong and with no lifeguards monitoring the beach people are advised not to swim there. The beach is accessed via Anawhata Rd. Family -- Piha Beach The beach is very accessible from the carpark and its vast sprawl provides fun for the whole family. Piha has a tidal creek for the little ones to play in and a patrolled surf area where older kids can swim, bodyboard and surf. While the beach is busy, its length makes it a great walk. Bush Walks Fit -- Fairy Falls Track This three-hour walk features mature kauri, the beautiful Fairy Falls and views from Auckland City to the Coromandel Penin- sula. The track is signposted and starts opposite the parking area on Scenic Drive. The track starts out level but descends steeply to the top of the Fairy Falls. It get steeper still down the falls before a gradual ascent to Mountain Rd. Visit the Arataki Visitors Centre for more information. Family -- large kauri Check out a giant kauri near Scenic Drive. Look out for the large kauri walk signpost on Sce- nic Drive and follow a short 30-metre pathway to be face-to- face with the majestic ancient native. Visit the Arataki Visitors Centre for more information. Town Taipari Strand Located on the sheltered west- ern side of Te Atatu Peninsula, Taipari Strand offers a range of activities for all ages. There is a network of walkways meandering through the park for strollers and joggers alike. The vast grass areas offers great picnicking spots and are large.
