All 440 year 7 students went to the Trusts Stadium for a DARE west fun day. They were joined by west Auckland police education officers, teachers and parents. After two hours of team-building activities the youngsters walked back to school, devoured pizza and chips for lunch then enjoyed a disco in the gymnasium. Show time: Children's ukulele orchestra the Kiwileles were treated to a performance by the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain at Trusts Stadium last weekend. The British players were taking time out of their tour of New Zealand to play for 2000 children. The kids were even encouraged to join in for a version of Rock Around the Clock. The Kiwileles were rehearsing for the NZ Ukulele Festival at Trusts Stadium. Educoncerts: Children's entertainment group the Polkadots have been performing for more than 5000 children from schools and preschools throughout the western region over the past two months. Using its special brand of music and dance, the group has presented free educoncerts promoting children's health and fitness. It has also provided free DVDs for youngsters to use at home with their families.
