She is pictured with her son Thomas Davis, granddaughter Suzanne Prideaux, great-granddaughter Katie Stolpmann and her great-great-granddaughters Cassidy and Zoe Peters. Alice is in good health, and looking forward to her 100th birthday. She comes from a family of eight girls, of which she was one of three sets of twins. Her father died when she was 15, so her mother was left to bring up eight girls on her own during the Depression. Alice and her three sisters Sylvia Hook, Mavis Mannall and Flora Watson are the remaining members of this family. Buddha on show, above: From left: Samantha Dharmapriya, Nimasha Edirisuriya, Kamitha Dharmapriya, Jithman Ramachandra and Chitrananda Dharmapriya from west Auckland at the International Exhibition of Buddha Statues last month. More than 500 people attended the event in Otahuhu. All proceeds were donated to charity. Fashion finalist, right: Amy Calder has been named the LynnMall Shopping Centre Young Fashion Stylist Finalist. She entered the AMP Capital Shopping Centres (AMPCSC) and Girlfriend Magazine nationwide competition to find New Zealand's Young Fashion Stylist. She is one of four finalists selected from more than 300 fashion-forward teens who submitted a montage of their favourite summer look for judging last month. Amy's buttons and bows montage was a standout entry and the judges were impressed with her unique take of the trend.
