He's keen to add to his stock of boutique New Zealand beers. Lincoln Wines has been producing premium New Zealand wines for longer than most of us have been around! Over recent years they have increased their wine range to offer excel- lent value for money for wines from around the world, including France, South Africa, Italy, Chile, Argentina, Aust- ralia and more, as well as locally sourced deals for their customers. Being independent, they are able to offer a wide range at competi- tive prices. Recently they have introduced a boutique beer selection courtesy of Harringtons in Christ- church. After developing a loyal following for the Harringtons range, Lin- coln expanded the range to include a select range of international beers. Seeing a niche in the West Auckland market, the range was increased to the point where there are now over 50 beers represented by over 20 brands. Most of the brands are from New Zealand, and each has a unique story to tell. One of the local stories is Scotts Brewery in Kelston. Founder Phillip Scott is gluten intoler- ant, and after not being able to enjoy the simple pleasure of a good crisp beer, he decided to brew his own. Starting his own micro-brewery producing 650 litres per batch, Scott has created New Zealand s first gluten free beer in both an amber and pale ale style. Other local breweries represented include Steve Plowman s Haller- tau boutique brewery in Riverhead, while there are other breweries rep- resented from both the North and South Island, all the way to Invercargill. Most are micro brew- eries producing a few hundred to a few thou- sand litres, while others are larger but still pro- ducing full and flavour- ful beers offering an alternative to the lighter mainstream styles. Lincoln owner Peter Fredatovich is pleased with the enthusiastic response from locals for an alternative range of New Zealand boutique beers that are hard to find in West Auckland. He is keen to tell the stories of the individual beers, and offers descriptions on every beer so customers have an awareness of what makes each beer unique and worth the small investment. Peter is keen to expand his range accord- ing to his customers tastes and preferences, and if he doesn t stock a beer a customer is after, he will endeavour to get it in an effort to have a definitive range of local boutique beers. The range currently focuses on popular styles such as lagers, ales, pale ales and pilsners, but also offers stouts, porters, amber ales, Indian pale ales, bitters and summer ales among others. In the near future Peter is looking at offer- ing a select range of international beers to help broaden his customers exploration of beer styles from both here and around the world. As an added incentive until Christmas, every $40 spent in-store will go in the draw to win a Citi- zen Eco-Drive watch valued at $599. So head to Lincoln Wines on Lincoln road (opposite McDonald's) to see Lincoln's indepe- ndent wine and boutique beer range and try something new to tempt your senses!
