RW_PN2098_NZH Public Notices Surf Life Saving IRB Event North Piha Beach Saturday 13 November 2010 Temporary removal -- speed restrictions The public are advised that Surf Life Saving Northern Region (SLSNR) will be holding an IRB Carnival at North Piha Beach on Saturday, 13 November 2010. A reserved area will be setup out from North Piha United Surf Club. SLSNR buoys will be laid marking a course within the 400 metre x 300 metre area. The IRB competition will start at 12.30 pm and finish no later than 5.00 pm. During these hours the provisions of Auckland Regional Council Navigation Safety Bylaw Clauses 3.2 (a) and (b) the 5 knot rule are suspended with respect to competing Surf IRB craft and any emergency vessels only. The reserved area will have patrol vessels stationed around the event area and all beach goers are advised to follow instructions given by course marshals.
